I'm Simone, and I do locs from a small home studio in Tottenham. Eleven years in, most of it on starter locs and microlocs, with a steady diet of retwists in between. What I care about is a clean part and roots that aren't pulled to within an inch of their life. Tight isn't neat, it's just tight, and your edges pay for it later.
I work with afro and kinky hair, curly hair, and looser textures that people keep being told won't loc. They will, they just need a different starting method and a bit of patience, and I'll tell you which one before you've paid me anything.
Starter clients get the honest version of the timeline. Locs look messy somewhere around month four and that's the part nobody posts. I'd rather you hear it from me at the consultation than panic at it on your bathroom floor.
Thinning edges, traction damage, a loc that's hanging on by three hairs: bring it. I do a lot of repair work and there's no lecture attached. Children from about five, and men and boys for retwists and maintenance.

Hair andWhat's included
- Whether hair is included depends on the style.
- Hair is not included in extensions. Budget roughly £225 to £400 for it and I will send you a shopping list once you have booked.
- I do not sell products. I will tell you what to buy and where, and I take no cut of it.

Sundays are closed except for pre-booked install days. Microloc and extension installs run over two sittings, usually a week apart.

BookingPolicies
Payment
£25 deposit to hold the date. Balance on the day by card, cash, bank transfer or Apple and Google Pay.
Rescheduling
48 hours notice to move an appointment. One, and your deposit carries across.
Late arrival
15 minutes grace period.
Cancellation
Inside 48 hours, or a no-show, and the deposit stays with me. I can rarely fill a four-hour gap at that notice.
Before yourAppointment
- Wash and blow-dry before you arrive, not on the day.
- Come washed, dried and product-free. Clarified is better still if you are starting locs.
- If it needs washing when you get here it is £15 and adds an hour, which sometimes means the style gets shortened.
- Fifteen minutes' grace, then I may need to rebook you, so the client after you is not sitting in my kitchen waiting.
Looking afterYour locs
- Wash every 2 to 4 weeks, and properly.
- Oil the scalp 2 or 3 times a week, lightly.
- Keep the style in 4 to 8 weeks between retwists, and longer is kinder to your roots.
