Be the loctician clients see first – and book
Your work speaks for itself. Your Instagram doesn’t always reach the people searching right now for someone in their city. A Featured listing puts you at the top of your area, with everything a new client needs to book.
Most clients search — they don’t scroll
New clients rarely scroll Instagram hoping to find a loctician. They search “loctician near me,” “starter locs Manchester,” “retwist Birmingham” — and they book whoever looks clearest and most trustworthy in the first few minutes.
If your profile sits halfway down the page with three photos and no booking link, you lose that client to someone who isn’t necessarily better at locs — just easier to book.
What a Featured listing does
Featured moves you to the top of your city page and gives your profile everything a client needs to go from “maybe” to “booked” — without a single DM.
- Top placement on your city page, above standard listings
- Up to 20 photos so your work does the talking
- A direct booking button (links to Fresha, Treatwell, your website, etc.)
- Your Instagram feed embedded on your profile
- Verified Loctician badge so new clients know you’re the real thing
- A mention in our monthly newsletter to people following the UK loc scene
- Profile analytics — see how many people viewed you and tapped through
Free or Featured
Most locticians start with a free listing, then upgrade to Featured once they see what kind of clients the directory brings in.

Why us, not a general directory or marketer
We only do locticians. We know how loc clients search, what they compare, and what makes them trust one specialist over another — because that’s the whole site.
You’re not a line item in a hair-and-beauty database. You’re the reason we built this.
Common questions
- Do I need to claim my free listing first?
- Yes — claiming is free and takes a couple of minutes. Once it’s yours, you can upgrade to Featured whenever you like.
- Is this a contract?
- No. It’s monthly, or yearly if you’d rather. Cancel whenever you want.
- Will Featured guarantee me bookings?
- No one honest can promise that, and we won’t. What Featured does is make sure the clients who are already searching can find you, see your work, and book without faff. The rest is your craft.
- I don’t have many photos yet.
- Start with what you have. A few good, well-lit photos of real work beat twenty blurry ones. If you’d like a hand making your profile look its best, see our Profile Glow-Up.
